Interactive Installation, 2023
Stories about beings that feed on the blood of other living creatures are very old. Some say that vampire legends have existed since 125 A.D. These stories emerged in the East and reached the West through navigation. Initially, vampires were associated with deaths in small villages. There, deaths that occurred for unknown reasons were attributed to these creatures. According to legend, vampires were feared creatures, as they killed people while appearing to resemble them. The only difference was that vampires had no shadow, did not reflect in mirrors, and could transform into the shape of a bat. During the day, they would sleep in their coffins and at night, they would drink human blood.
This interactive experience allows the user to become a vampire. To do so, the user simply needs to stand in the center of the room in front of the sensor. The sensor will then activate the LEDs, signaling to the user that he's in the right spot to begin his experience in this installation.
This project was developed by João Lopes, André Rocha, António Duarte and Luana Matias at ESMAD, P. Porto.
Software used: Processing and Arduino

At this moment, only a title related to the experience is displayed.

Then, the sensor will activate the Leds and the experience will begin
